On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, a walk and awareness seminar was organized on 28th July at Divisional Headquarters Teaching Hospital, Mirpur to raise public awareness about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hepatitis.
The event was led by Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, along with senior medical professionals including Professor Dr. Amjad, Professor Dr. Shazia, PMA President Dr. Ejaz Raja, AMS Dr. Awais, Dr. Jehangir, Dr. Shoaib, Dr. Saima, and many other dedicated members of the medical and allied staff.
A walk was conducted within the hospital premises, symbolizing unity and commitment towards the elimination of hepatitis. It was followed by a seminar in which key speakers, including DMS Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, Prof. Dr. Amjad, Dr. Jehangir, and others, addressed the audience.
In her address, Dr. Maria Zulfiqar emphasized the importance of early screening, vaccination, safe medical practices, and public education to prevent the spread of hepatitis. She highlighted the role of healthcare professionals in spreading awareness and ensuring safe healthcare delivery.
Prof. Dr. Amjad spoke about the clinical challenges in diagnosing and managing hepatitis, while Dr. Jehangir shared insights on community outreach strategies and patient education.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue efforts for hepatitis prevention and to support government initiatives aimed at achieving the goal of Hepatitis Elimination by 2030.
